Something new, out of something old

Is this the start of a new piece of work? Saw this 'Midwinter' Coffee pot & cup in a local charity shop, and off I go again!!

It is so retro, I love it. Or is it the colours? A fellow artist told me the other day that I was a blue / green person - I think she maybe right!!

Not sure how this is going to develop from here, I'll keep you posted.

Broadway Open Art Competition & Exhibition

Good news.........

Absolutely delighted to say I have had my linocut 'Winter Hedgerow' accepted into the Broadway Open Art Competition. The judging panel is chaired by Ken Howard OBE, RA. The exhibition runs from 3rd-19th June 2016 at the Little Buckland Gallery, Little Buckland, Broadway, Gloucestershire WR12.
Definately worth a visit.

Finished

I have finished printing 'A Handful of Daffs'. It is an edition of 25 linocut prints, image size 20x20cm, a real breathe of fresh air & that lovely spring feeling.

ALSO....... I have finished cutting out my alphabet. Now need to start printing - a job for next week, if I don't get distracted again, which I can't promise I won't!

Feeling naughty today......!

These beautiful sunny daffodils were nodding their heads at me, so I've started a new linocut today. Shouldn't have really, as still got 2 more letters from my alphabet to cut.

Going home...

The linocut of 'The Ring of Bells' in Cheriton Fitzpaine, Devon, has gone home.

This is an edition of 25 linoprints, all handprinted by my own fair hands in my studio at home.

First colour printed

First colour printed, with some texture added in the same colour for 'Ring of Bells' linocut. Used a transparent ink as a base for this colour mix, was very tacky, so not sure how long this is going to take to dry!!

Think the second colour will be a grey / charcoal colour, printed as a solid colour.
